Artist: Bryan Graf
Title: Wildlife Analysis
Publisher: Conveyor Arts
Scanning the New Jersey landscape, Bryan Graf’s inventive and playful work turns the prosaic Jersey landscape into a canvas for darkroom experimentation and mystic revelation. Created in part by sandwiching B/W negatives with exposed, or partially fogged color film, the images channel the landscape’s hidden ghosts to hallucinatory effect. Composed of individually scanned 8×10 analog color prints, each copy of Wildlife Analysis is randomly sequenced to produce a unique book. Paging through the book, splashes of acid, acrid radiation dance across the sky, tangle in the weeds and skitter off the page.
