Ricardo Cases' photographic work is always related to the desires of the human being: the deep and universal desires of the citizen of mass society, who fights against banality in an effort to transcend and confront his dignity in an always inglorious environment. To do this, Ricardo orients his gaze to the expressions of contemporary folklore, seeking the truth of the Spanish understood as a man of the people forced to live in the city, in modernity. Beyond a pop, distanced and cynical appearance, he is interested in the human and anthropological. Beyond the social and documentary, he is interested in the sincere and universal drives that beat beneath the banal, kitsch and unglamorous surface of contemporary Spain. "
