Shen Wei

Born and raised in Shanghai, Shen Wei is a visual artist based in New York City. He is known for his intimate self-portraits and portraits of others, as well as his poetic landscapes. His work has been exhibited internationally, with venues including the Museum of the City of New York, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Power Station of Art in Shanghai, China, the Hasselblad Foundation in Göteborg, Sweden, the North Carolina Museum of Art, and the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago. His work has been featured in The New Yorker, The Guardian, CNN, Aperture, ARTnews, Paris Review, Financial Times, Le Figaro, and American Photo.
