Heather Glazzard grew up in Halifax, a small town in northern England, before making their way down to London. We last featured Glazzard in 2019, when we took a look at their first major project, Queer Letters. More recently, they’ve been photographing couples who have been separated throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Their latest project,Tender Zine, was inspired by their experience working on ostensibly inclusive, actually exploitative fashion shoots. “I saw the way queer people were being treated on shoots, including from my own experience so I wanted to create something that felt like a compassionate space that celebrated us.” The proceeds of Tender Zine are being donated to the See Me Safe FFS Fund and the Black Trans Foundation, as well as various individual fundraising efforts.
Heather Glazzard will be taking over @paperjournalmag from today until the 14th of June. You can follow them @heather_glazzard and see more of their work at www.heatherglazzard.com.
