Instagram Takeover – Jess Gough

Jess Gough uses the camera as a navigational tool to explore landscapes and study their various textures, colours, and kinaesthetic qualities. The project describes and reckons with the processes of our physical world; forces operating beyond our control and changes occurring just outside the limits of perception. This series, Topographies, concerns our experience of nature and the representation of its presence.

Born in 1989, Gough is a self-taught film photographer living and working in London. She has self-published several collections of work and has had solo exhibitions in Istanbul and London. Topographies is being produced as an ongoing series of publications, each volume taking a different physical format with Topographies II due to be released in September 2019.
