Instagram Takeover – Sofie Kjørum Austlid

Sofie Kjørum Austlid has spent years working and travelling between cities, amidst this movement, she finds a need to ground herself through her work: to find a real connecting to the people and places with which she surrounds herself, and to explore the common desire to belong to something bigger than ourselves. She investigates the self-presentation of her subjects, how they see themselves and how they wish to be seen by others.

Originally from Norway, she is now based in New York City. She holds a BA in Fine Art Photography from Valand Academy, University of Gothenburg in Sweden. Her work have been exhibited in Norway and Sweden and she has an upcoming solo show in New York, December 2019.
