Sarah Blais

Sarah Blais is a documentary, portrait, and fashion photographer. Her work revolves around capturing the surrealism she sees in ordinary life and subtly shifting familiar narratives to build tension and connection in an image, always with an undertone of joy. Play has become an integral part of her process as a tool to liberate the imagination within herself and the subjects she photographs. Her work has been shown in group exhibitions from Hong Kong to Montreal and has been published in photo books including, The Kinfolk Garden, On Further Developments, by Anticàmera, and recently Same, Same But Different, by Max Siedentopf. See Projects. She received The British Journal of Photography’s Female in Focus award in October 2019, with a group exhibition in New York at United Photo Industries. Clients include Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton, Icicle, Byredo, By Malene Birger, Studio Nicholson, Arket, Aeyde, and Monki. Her work has been published in Kinfolk, Vogue, WSJ, The Last Magazine, Sleek, Manifesto, Telegraph Luxury, and Sunday Times Style.
