Catherine Canac-Marquis (b. 1988) is a French-Canadian photographer living and working in Long Beach, California. Her work is mainly focused on environmental issues, climate change, America’s public lands, and the documentary role of the photographic medium. She received her BFA with Distinction in Photography from Concordia University in 2017, and recently completed a Graduate Certificate in Climate Change from Laval University. It has been included in solo and group exhibitions at The Reykjavik Museum of Photography (Reykjavik, 2019), The Letter Bet (Montreal, 2018), and Gallery 44 | Centre for Contemporary Photography (Toronto, 2017). Most recently, she founded Envelope, a collective to empower women artists while sustaining their creative growth as they pursue professional editorial work.
