Tania Franco Klein’s cinematic photography is driven by an obsession with eternal youth, the American dream in the Western world and the psychological dramas they generate. Her pictures draw on cliches of leisure and consumption, with hints of media overstimulation and emotional disconnection never lingering in the background.
Klein’s work has been reviewed and featured by international critique including Aperture, The British Journal of Photography, I-D Magazine, The Guardian, the Paris Review, and Der Greif, amongst others and has been commissioned by clients including The New Yorker, New York Magazine, and Dior. Her work has been exhibited across Europe, USA, and Mexico, including international fairs such as Photo Basel, Photo London, and Photofairs SF. Her first monograph publication Positive Disintegration (2019) was nominated for the Paris Photo Aperture Foundation First Book Award. She is currently exhibiting her work Proceed to the Route at ROSEGALLERY until the 18th of January 2019.
