Palm Photo Prize 2021

Spring brings with it the Palm* Photo Prize. This annual award, run by publishers Palm* Studios, has helped support and showcase image-makers since 2018. The prize’s free-entry, open submissions policy, matched with the keen eyes and industry experience of Palm* founder Lola Paprocka, makes this one of the best places to discover fresh photographic talent.

2021 saw over seven thousand artists respond to the call. This was narrowed down to a shortlist of just over 100 entrants, each of whose images will be exhibited at 10 14 gallery between the 20th of May – 30th of August. In turn, these artists are in the running for four prizes: The Judge’s Panel 1st Place and 2nd Place awards, the People’s Choice Award, and the inaugural Up and Coming Award, sponsored by photographic agency East, the winner of which will undergo a mentorship with East’s global team of agents.

This year, the judges include: Alastair McKimm (Editor-in-Chief of i-D), Karen McQuaid (senior curator at The Photographers’ Gallery), Gem Fletcher (writer, photo editor and host of The Messy Truth), Ronan McKenzie (photographer and director of HOME by RM), Megan Tilley (senior photo agent at East Photographic), and Lola Paprocka (Photographer and Founder of Palm* Studios).

All of this is made possible thanks to the support of Spectrum, East Photographic, Picter, Labyrinth Photographic and i-D Magazine.
